In his latest Amazon ad, LeBron James might be playfully eyeing Prime Day bargains — but in real life, his sights are set on a far more serious goal: getting his knee ready for training camp.
The 40-year-old Lakers star intends to return for a historic 23rd NBA season, which would make him the league’s first player to hit that milestone. But after spraining a ligament in his left knee during the team’s final playoff game against Minnesota, recovery is his top priority.
James said his knee is feeling “good” and emphasized that staying in peak condition through strict training and nutrition remains central to his longevity.
“I’ve got plenty of time to rehab and get my body right so I can be as close to 100% as possible for training camp,” he told the Associated Press during an interview about his new 60-second spot, “What’s Next?” — part of Amazon’s global ‘Greatness is a Deal Away’ campaign, announcing Prime Day from July 8 to 11.
