Carlos Alcaraz, the two-time defending champion, defeats Taylor Fritz to secure a spot in the Wimbledon final once again.

While others speculate about what Carlos Alcaraz has already achieved at Wimbledon — and what more might lie ahead for the seemingly unstoppable star — Alcaraz himself was simply focused on savoring his latest win.

The 22-year-old moved one step closer to a third straight Wimbledon title and his sixth Grand Slam overall with a hard-fought 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, 7-6 (6) semifinal victory over Taylor Fritz on Friday.

Alcaraz, the No. 2 seed, extended his winning streak to 24 matches as he heads into Sunday’s final, where he’ll face either top seed Jannik Sinner or 24-time major champion Novak Djokovic.

“I’m not thinking about the streak or the results,” Alcaraz said. “Right now, I just want to enjoy this moment and the fact that I’ve reached another final. That’s my dream.”

Alcaraz is undefeated in Grand Slam finals at 5-0, including back-to-back Wimbledon wins over Djokovic in 2023 and 2024, and a five-set comeback against Sinner at the French Open just last month.

Fritz, seeded No. 5 and last year’s U.S. Open runner-up to Sinner, was aiming to become the first American man to reach the Wimbledon final since Andy Roddick fell to Roger Federer in 2009.
