Lady Gaga has reclaimed her spot at the top of the MTV Video Music Awards, leading the 2025 nominations with 12 nods — breaking Taylor Swift’s two-year streak in the lead.
The “Mayhem” singer is nominated across a wide range of categories, including best collaboration, pop, direction, art direction, cinematography, editing, choreography, visual effects, as well as song, video, album, and artist of the year.
Joining Gaga in the artist of the year category are Bad Bunny, Kendrick Lamar, Morgan Wallen, The Weeknd, Beyoncé, and Taylor Swift. Beyoncé and Swift are especially notable this year, as both now share the record for the most career VMAs, with 30 each.
