Trump to hold talks with NATO chief amid emerging plan for arms sales to Ukraine.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is scheduled to meet with former President Donald Trump this week, shortly after Trump revealed plans for the U.S. to supply weapons to NATO allies for eventual transfer to Ukraine.

NATO confirmed Sunday that Rutte will be in Washington, D.C., on Monday and Tuesday, where he’ll hold discussions with Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and several members of Congress. The White House has yet to comment on the visit.

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, a close Trump ally, said Sunday that the war in Ukraine may be reaching a turning point as Trump becomes increasingly supportive of aiding Kyiv in its fight against Russia. While Trump previously criticized U.S. involvement in the war and emphasized a quick resolution during his campaign, his stance appears to be shifting.

“Expect to see an unprecedented surge in weapon deliveries to Ukraine very soon,” Graham stated during an appearance on CBS’ Face the Nation. He added, “Putin’s major strategic mistake has been underestimating Trump. Watch closely—there’s going to be a major push to bring Putin to the negotiating table in the near future.”
